-Timeline of APA and APA immigrant students in BPS and Mingle
-Panel
Discussion (history of and current Boston demographics, history of APA
students in the Boston Area, History of and current APA leadership and
voice in BPS, Current policies and changes affecting APA immigrant
students)
-Breakout groups
New vision for workshop:
Josiah Quincy Elementary School Community Space Cafeteria
1:00PM to 4:00PM
-Timeline, food (brought by MAAEA members), and mingle,
-Discussion of topics in a large group (one topic at a time)
--Demographics - Peter Kiang (confirmed)
--History of APA students in the Boston Area - Suzanne Lee (confirmed)
--History of and current APA leadership and voice in BPS (some combination of Bak Fun Wong, Simon Ho, Richard Chang) TBD
--Current policies and changes affecting APA immigrant students (Thuy Truong
-Breakout Groups, Follow-up
--What do you need to know, what resources do you need? How can MAAEA help?
Logistics:
- Richard will help pay for the plates, utensils, cups, napkins
- Parking - available at Quincy Upper from 12:30PM to 1:00PM -
Sign ups needed:
- Clean-up
- Food sign-up
- Someone to buy utensils, etc.
- Someone in charge of mobilizing people
- Facilitation, agenda, etc. (Chris Day and Katie Li)
- Timeline (Katie and Cynthia)
- Meet parkers at Quincy Upper between 12:30PM and 1:00PM and provide parking permits (Tim)
To Do List:
- Cynthia contact Simon and Bak Fan
- Go will follow-up with Jessica Tang re Thuy Truong.
- Cynthia will get a microphone for the cafeteria.
- Go will e-mail the sign-up list to MAAEA.
- Go will make the evite and (already made) the facebook event.
- Go will make the email to send folks about the event.
- For the future - look into getting PLP credit for future. MAAEA Events - Tim
