Thank you from the BESJ to all of you who helped to support the First Annual Boston area Educators for Social Justice Conference. We had over 200 participants, and the event was a huge success. We hope you found the experience as powerful, engaging, and energizing as we did!
If you weren't able to make it, it's not too late to stay connected and get involved. Here are a few ways you can continue to participate in this movement to organize social justice education in the Greater Boston Area:
First, if you want to stay connected to this network and/or the people you met on Saturday, here are some ways to do that:
1—Plan to attend the follow-up meeting to launch ItAGs (Inquiry to Action Groups) on Wednesday June 15, 2011, at the Curley School in Jamaica Plain, from 6:00-8:00pm (You can read more about ItAGs atwww.tagboston.org)
2—Send any materials or resources you want to share to besjinfo@gmail.com so that we can get those resources up on the conference website. These include resources from workshops at the conference or other relevant materials.
3—Join the Teacher Activist Group (TAG) Boston listserv. This is an online forum for exchanging news, information and questions related to social justice education. Simply fill in your e-mail address atwww.tagboston.org
4— Join TAG Boston’s Facebook page. (Search TAG Boston, or Teacher Activist Group Boston)
5—Check out TAG Boston’s website and share stories.

If you did NOT complete an evaluation during the conference or have additional feedback or want to help plan for next year, please send an email to besjinfo@gmail.com by Wednesday, June 1. Help us make the 2012 conference even stronger!
Also, consider attending the upcoming Free Minds, Free People conference on July 7-10 in Providence. This is a chance to meet people from all over the country working on education for liberation, and a chance to gather with others from the Boston Area as we continue talking about the movement here in our own back yards.http://fmfp.org/
Thanks again for participating in the Boston area Educators for Social Justice Conference. We look forward to continuing the conversations started last Saturday over the course of the next year.
Sincerely,
The BESJ 2011 Planning Group
